If a person does not get REM sleep, concentration and reaction time will suffer. You need eight and half or nine hours of sleep each night. If you are not getting the required amount of sleep, add a few minutes regularly for several nights. Eventually, you will work up to the required amount of sleep you need to be at your best.

Make sure you include a cycling workout that includes some warm ups before every cycling event. If there are times when this is not possible, there are a few things that can help. Take a hot shower, do some quick calisthenics, and rub massage oil on your body. However, cycling training is the best way to keep your mind and body healthy, rested, and ready to go.

Nutrition is an important part of staying physically fit and should be a part of your cycling program. Breakfast sets the stage for your entire day. Cereal is a healthy choice. You tend to eat less fat the rest of the day and gain vitamins and minerals. As a rule, people who eat breakfast lower cholesterol. According to some studies in sports medicine, vitamin C and vitamin E hastens recovery time for tired or damaged muscles. Vitamin E is thought to help recovery time from abrasions. After a strenuous cycling session, it is important to regain your strength. To avoid being hungry and sluggish the rest of the day, restore your body within twenty minutes of a cycling session. A carbohydrate or protein drink can work wonders after a strenuous cycling workout.
